Job overview
We are recruiting a Fleet Maintenance Engineer to keep a mixed fleet of prime movers, tankers and trailers roadworthy and available. You will plan preventive maintenance, manage workshop technicians and drive down downtime and repair cost per kilometre.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for the fleet
- Supervise workshop technicians and third-party repair vendors
- Investigate breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Control spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets
- Report fleet availability, cost per km and downtime KPIs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- Minimum 5 years in commercial fleet maintenance
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking and hydraulic systems
- Experience with a computerised maintenance management system
